Frequently Asked Questions

Should I make a reservation?
Since sizes available change constantly, we recommend calling or stopping by our office in advance to check on what is available and make a reservation.

What do I need to rent a unit?
You need a current driver’s license or state ID, a mailing address and phone number, and the first month’s rent (we prorate for the month when you move in, but if it is after the middle of the month you need to pay for the following month in advance as well)

Do you charge a deposit or administration fees?
No, we do not charge a deposit or administration fees when you rent a unit.

Do you have any specials?
Pay for 12 months and get the 13th month free (12 months must be paid in 1 payment).

Do I have to sign a lease?
Yes, we require you to sign a lease. However, the lease is month-to-month and does not require a commitment more than the current month.

When is my rent due?
After you move in, rent is always due on the 1st of the month.

When do late fees get charged and how much are they?
We offer a grace period through the 5th of the month. A $20 late fee is charged on the 6th of the month.

Are there any other late or lien fees?
Once rent is 35 days past due, a lien is placed on the unit and a $35 lien fee is charged.

What forms of payment do you accept?
We require tenants to sign up for auto-pay using a debit or credit card. (Credit Card Recurring Payment Authorization Form)

Can I transfer to another unit if I find I have too much or too little space?
Yes, we can easily transfer you to another available unit, and you will be either charged or credited with the difference in rent. We will even give you a few days to transfer all your belongings without charging you for both units.

Do you have moving carts available?
Yes, we have moving carts available in all our buildings that have inside- access units.

Do you rent moving trucks?
No, we do not have moving trucks for rent.

Do you sell boxes and other moving supplies?
No, we do not have boxes or moving supplies for sale.

Do I need to provide my own lock?
Yes, you need to provide your own lock. Any type of padlock or combination lock will work. We have them available in the office for you to purchase if needed.

Do I need insurance?
We do not insure your belongings while they are stored, so it is up to you to provide insurance if you want it. Your homeowner’s or renter’s policy may provide some protection, but you need to check with your insurance provider for details. We have brochures from a storage insurance company available in the office if you are interested.

What is the minimum time I can rent a unit for?
Our minimum rental period is one month (or the remainder of the month if you rent a unit after the 1st.) We do not rent by the day or week.

How much notice do I need to give when I move out?
No notice is required, though we appreciate you letting us know in case we have someone wanting a unit that size.

If I will be moving out before the end of the month do I have to pay for the whole month’s rent?
If you move out by the 7th of the month your month’s rent will be pro- rated. If you move out after the 7th of the month we will not pro-rate your rent and you will have to pay for the whole month’s rent.

Can I pay for more than 1 month at a time?
You can pay for as many months in advance as you want. If you move out before using it all, you will be issued a refund for the months not used.

If I have a refund coming to me, can I receive it when I move out?
Refunds are issued with a company check, which you will receive in the mail.
